New director Paul Feig of Ghostbusters reboot confirms all female ensemble

The rumors about the “Ghostbusters” reboot have finally been confirmed after the director Paul Feig sent out a tweet and a picture collage of his all female ensemble- Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon on the popular networking site.

Having worked with female buddies Wiig and McCarthy in blockbuster comedy movies “Bridesmaids” earlier, Feig should be comfortable with the setup. They will be joined by “Saturday Night Live” players Leslie Jones who is currently on screen in Chris Rock’s “Top Five.” Kate McKinnon, on the other hand, has been on Saturday Night Live since 2012 and even has an Emmy nomination under her belt.

“The “Ghostbusters” reboot has seen a long development process. Original director Ivan Reitman was on board to return, but while original cast members Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson had agreed to reprise their characters, Bill Murray proved elusive. Then Reitman bowed out of the project when Ramis passed away last year,” reported the CNN.

The shoot for the ‘specter-seeking, poltergeist-punishing and phantom-following foursome’ is expected to commence in New York in summers. Feig has already talked of a July 22, 2016 release for the movie.
