Golden Globe Awards: List of Winners

‘The Golden Globe Awards 2015’ has begun in Beverley Hills thus kick starting the 2015 season of the Award Calendar. The much awaited award ceremony began with the presentation of ‘Best Supporting Actor’ award for “Whiplash” star JK Simmons.

It was an ultimate “Boyhood” show in the presentation ceremony. This Richard Linklater directorial cemented its status as an Oscar frontrunner by winning the ‘Best Drama’ award.

The film fetched Linklater the award for the ‘Best Director’, and  Patricia Arquette, who enacted the role of an unappreciated single mother garnered the honor of ‘Best Supporting Actress’.

Micheal Keaton who enacted his role to perfection in “Birdman” bagged the ‘Best Actor’ award in a musical or comedy. “Birdman” also won the ‘Best Screenplay’ honor. The full list of Golden Globe winners here.

The film failed to fetch the ‘Best Picture’ award in its category, and this honor was ultimately given to “The Grand Budapest Hotel” directed by Wes Anderson.

Julianne Moore for her performance in “Still Alice” grabbed the ‘Best Actress’ award in a drama. The actress immortalized the role of a doctor who is in the early onset of Alzheimer’s disease in this movie. Reese Whitherspoon for her role in “Wild” and Rosamund Pike for “Gone Girl” were also there till the last lap to bag the ‘Best Actress’ award.

Eddie Redmayne, who lived as Stephen Hawking in the biopic “Theory of Everything” won the ‘Best Actor’ award in a drama.

On the other hand, for his role as an underhanded politician in “House of Cards”, Kevin Spacey won the ‘Best Actor’ award in a drama series.

“Leviathan” was named the ‘Best Foreign Language Film’ and ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ was selected as the ‘Best Animation movie’.
