SpaceX reschedules ISS Cargo launch to Saturday

SpaceX which aborted the launch of its Falcon 9 rocket on Tuesday morning has decided to try again on Saturday. The scheduled time of launch is at 4:47 AM EST.

With this mission, SpaceX tries to land a rocket on a floating platform. If their attempt becomes successful, the launch will mark the first time any one has launched a rocket on a barge out at the sea.

During the time of mission, SpaceX plans to send its Dragon Capsule to ISS on a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, Florida.

The capsule is bringing NASA supplies to the International Space Station. Soon after the take off, SpaceX will try their best to land the first stage of its Falcon 9 rocket on a barge out at the sea.

The barge is located approximately 200 miles east of Jacksonville, Florida.

The experiment of landing in ocean barge is expected to create benign results in the development of reusable rockets.

As per NASA, the weather forecast is ‘80% go’. If SpaceX gets compelled to reschedule the launch again, then the next probable date will be January 13, 2015, 3:30 AM EST.

Earlier, SpaceX cancelled their launch on Tuesday just one minute before the scheduled liftoff. As per official sources, the cancellation of launch was due to an issue with the thrust vector actuator.

The chances of completing this landing is not as high as one would expect. As per SpaceX officials, the odds of success are 50 % at its best.
