Ever since Apple has unveiled iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, the buzz about its launch and sale in India has been highly anticipated.
From now what it seems, the Indian grey market is already ready and the new models of Apple’s iPhone range are being sold for whopping prices of over Rs. 1 Lakh.
A report in Economic Times mentioned that iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, both unlocked versions, are on sale on eBay India for Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.1 lakh respectively, for the 16GB variants.
The new devices will be shipped to India from September, 21, 2014, the report further said.
Also, there are other sellers on eBay India who are selling the network-locked 16GB version of iPhone 6 for Rs. 75000 with a promise of it being unlocked before sale.
Apple has announced that the new iPhone models will be released in US on September 19, 2014, while the Indian customer would have to wait longer till October 17 for official release.
Reports also have it that in the Heera Panna shopping complex and Crawford Market of Mumbai, the new 16GB iPhone 6 was being quoted at prices between Rs. 80,000 and Rs. 85,000. Dealers are promising delivery within September.
The two new iPhones will start selling in major countries like US, the UK, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan, and Singapore on September 12, 2014 when the bookings start.
The top trade partners of Apple have talked that iPhone 6 will be priced in India in the Rs 48,000- Rs 50,000 range, while the new iPhone 6 Plus is expected to have a price bracket of Rs. 60,000.
