The unannounced Moto X+1 Phablet has once again popped up in an apparent image leak and an unofficial video. Will it ship with Android L right out of the box?
Motorola is one of the few major players in the Smartphone business that are yet to make an entry to the large-screen Phablet segment. However, if a newly leaked image is anything to go by, it’s looking like they’ll be on the supersize bandwagon soon enough.
Talk of the Moto X+1 has once again been fuelled by the appearance of an unconfirmed image, which features a large Motorola handset with a screen size that clearly breaches the 5-inch mark. Keen observers insist it’s a full 1080p handset and boasts a Super AMOLED touchscreen, which certain add credence to ongoing rumors as to what Big M’s next big thing will deliver.
What’s also of key interest as far as the new image leak goes is how the device looks to be running Android L – the stripped-back version of Google’s world-leading mobile operating system that’s clearly taken several leaves from Apple’s iOS book. If this is the case, it indirectly confirms that the Moto X+1 will not launch until much later in Q3 or perhaps as late as Q4, given how the new OS isn’t scheduled to roll-out for quite some time yet.
The rest all comes down to pure speculation, including the ongoing suggestion that the Moto X+1 will be a Verizon exclusive, at least at the time of its launch. Prior to the latest image leak, the folks at TK Tech News shared a video supposedly laying bare the new Phablet in all its glory – you can take a look below and see if you reckon it’s the real-deal:
