Mind-Control Photo Sharing – Google Glass Just Got Creepier

If you thought the idea of taking photos with the blink of an eye was far-fetched enough, how about the ability to both take and share photos simply by thinking about it?

Just when you thought Google Glass couldn’t get any creepier, it proves you wrong by reading your mind…literally.

For those that find the idea of pressing a shutter button or using a voice-command to take a photo too much like hard work, the days of such needless wasted energy are numbered. Thanks to a new Google Glass sensor and its accompanying app, you’ll soon be able to take photos simply by thinking about it.

That’s right – mind-control photo-taking.

And if that wasn’t unsettling enough, you can even then go on to share the photo you’ve just taken on Facebook, again by just thinking about it.

The Neurosky Mindwave Mobile headset was created by a British firm and sells for a hardly unfair price of £71, or about $130 in real money. And while the idea of having a face-mounted Smartphone effectively listen to your thoughts around the clock might be a bit on the worrying side, This Place believes the technology has the potential for much wider application.

It could for example be used to enable better communication by and with those suffering from locked-in syndrome and other serious disabilities.

“The challenge of connecting Google Glass to brainwaves was one we could not resist,” said company CEO Dusan Hamlin.

“Currently, users have to touch it or use voice commands, which are restrictive for some social situations and for users with disabilities,”

“But imagine a world where you can interact with a digital device just by thinking about it,”

“That’s the world we are building.”
