Three of BlackBerry’s most recent Smartphones have received coveted awards for design – the official Red Dot seal of approval.
BlackBerry is all over the news right now for having come up with the most outlandish Smartphone design we’ve seen in some time – the squarest of square Passport. It’s hardly gone down a storm with critics and has a hell of a way to go to prove itself, which is quite ironic given how the same Canadian company has just scooped up a rather prestigious design award.
The official Red Dot seal of approval was slapped upon the BlackBerry Q10, Z30 and Q5 Smartphones, which beat out close to 5,000 other entrants sources from dozens of leading markets. The awards were handed out on the basis of superior “quality and innovative strength” and all three of the BlackBerry devices came out with top-marks from the panel of over 40 judges.
This is of course exactly the kind of positive publicity BlackBerry needs right now after one of the most painfully extensive periods of quarterly losses and reputational damage ever endured by a global Smartphone producer.
