Image Leak Backs Metallic Samsung Galaxy F Rumors – Lessons Learned at Last?

A new image leak from a high-profile tipster had added further momentum to reports that the Samsung Galaxy F flagship will feature a brushed metallic casing.

The fact that the Samsung Galaxy S5 turned up in a plastic jacket took us all by surprise. Ignoring the ongoing calls of millions of high-end Smartphone fanatics, the South Korean company instead insisted it knew best, which given the comparatively poor sales performance of the S5 came right back around to bite them in the rear-end.

However, there’s growing reason to believe that lessons have finally been learned and that we will at long last be kissing goodbye to the polycarbonate wrapping most fell out with two generations ago. Once again, a leaked image of the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime – aka the Galaxy F – has made its way onto the web and depicts a glorious brushed metallic casing.

This time around, the tip of the hat must go the way of @Evleaks, having kindly shared this image of the Galaxy F which was sourced from parts and individuals unknown. It’s hardly a smoking gun in terms of specs, features or overall design, but it does at least add credence to the suggestion of brushed metal replacing the current polycarbonate case.

Under the hood, the F isn’t expected to represent much of a leap forward from the existing Galaxy S5. The biggest change of all will be the addition of a 2K QHD touchscreen, largely the same as that of the recently launched LG G3. 2K ultra-HD panels are slowly starting to take over as the new standard for the highest-end mobile devices on the market, which in turn suggests that Samsung’s existing S5 will shortly be losing even more of its luster.

Of course, Samsung is yet to breathe a word on the existence of the Galaxy F Smartphone, having only broken silence late last year to insist it didn’t and wouldn’t even exist.

But as we’ve come to know, it’s not exactly rare to be fed a red-herring by a major tech brand.
